F6 Films — Lincoln, Nebraska

Ten years. One ranch. Filmed from the first day.

F6 Films is a Nebraska production company documenting the building of Sandhills Sovereign Farms from zero. The record began before the first head of cattle arrived, and it runs for a decade.

The Premise

Four beats, not a highlight reel

A working ranch, built from nothing, filmed from day one, for ten years.

01

Start before the beginning

Filming opens on bare ground, before there is a herd to film. That "before" exists for one season, and then it is gone for good.

02

Stay for the seasons

A ten-year record: calving, drought, winter, the years that go wrong along with the ones that go right.

03

Show the work, not the highlight

Regenerative claims are usually asserted. This one is filmed, and separately, independently verifiable through Prairie Ledger.

04

Bring others with it

The point of documenting a proof of concept is that other producers can watch it work before deciding whether to follow.

What F6 Films Does

Capabilities the company sells

Distinct from the flagship project below, which F6 Films self-finances rather than sells.

Documentary & Long-Form Film

Character-driven, long-form nonfiction, shot and cut by contracted crew under direct creative direction.

Podcast Production

In-depth audio series built to follow a subject over years, not a single news cycle.

Publication & Written Work

A long-form written record that runs alongside the film and audio, for readers who want the detail in text.

Digital Campaign Work

Campaign strategy and content built around a real story, for clients and for F6's own productions alike.

The Flagship Project

The Sandhills Sovereign Farms Record

Sandhills Sovereign Farms is a regenerative cattle operation being built from nothing in Nebraska's Sandhills, publicly based in Merriman, Nebraska. F6 Films is recording it continuously — the herd, the land practices, the first seasons — starting before the operation existed and running for ten years.

The Sandhills is one of the largest intact grassland ecosystems left in the United States, and it sits over the deepest part of the High Plains Aquifer. Neither fact points to a specific piece of ground — they are simply why the region matters at all.

What makes the record unusual is timing and rigor. It starts before there is a ranch to film, and it runs alongside a tamper-evident data record, kept by sister company Prairie Ledger, rather than instead of one. The film shows the work. The ledger verifies it.

  • Format: documentary and podcast, filmed continuously over a planned ten-year span.
  • Verification: land and production claims are cross-checked against Prairie Ledger's public, hash-chained record.
  • Ownership: F6 Films and Sandhills Sovereign Farms share a founder, Brian J. Behrens.
  • Status: early production. Working titles for the documentary and podcast are not public yet.
About

Brian Behrens, Producer

Brian J. Behrens owns and runs F6 Films. He sets creative direction and makes the production calls; execution — camera, sound, edit — is contracted out to crew.

Before F6, he spent a career in the entertainment business, followed by two decades of operations and logistics leadership across several industries. That combination, someone who has run productions and someone who has run complicated operations, is the same read he brings to Sandhills Sovereign Farms.

F6 Films also takes on independent client work in documentary, podcast, publication, and digital-campaign production. None of that work is public right now, so rather than leave an empty space where a portfolio might go, we are saying so plainly.

FAQ

Direct questions, direct answers

What is F6 Films?

F6 Films is a Nebraska production company, wholly owned by Brian J. Behrens, that makes documentary, podcast, publication, and digital-campaign work centered on regenerative agriculture.

What is the Sandhills Sovereign Farms project?

It is a ten-year documentary and podcast record of Sandhills Sovereign Farms, a regenerative cattle operation being built from zero in Nebraska's Sandhills. Filming began before the ranch had its first herd.

Is F6 Films connected to Sandhills Sovereign Farms?

Yes. F6 Films and Sandhills Sovereign Farms share a founder and owner, Brian J. Behrens. That common ownership is why F6 has the access it has, and it is stated here directly rather than left for a viewer to find on their own.

When will the documentary be released?

There is no release date yet. Because the production is designed to run for ten years, earlier material such as a podcast episode or a publication piece is likely to surface before any full documentary release.
